This image was taken on the shore of Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park a couple of years ago. It was an experiment in photography after dark and moon light. BJ captured the feel of the summer night, the illusion of air passing across the body while looking at Luna’s face.
I needed to think and feel something from summer this evening. The days have been cold and cloud-covered. Today most of the cloud lifted and allowed us to bake, like all good northern dwellers, in the glow of temperatures up at the freezing mark. It’s shorts weather again for some, even as the rest of us maintain warmth in parkas.
Look at this image, breathe deep, and put yourself back into the most memorable night of last summer that you can bring to mind. Take in the remembered fragrances, the feel of moisture on your arms and face, and smile. That sensation will come again–once in a blue moon, or at least, next summer.
